UNDAUNTED
For a few very hard years this word was my mantra.
The word means
-undismayed; not discouraged; not forced to abandon purpose or effort
-undiminished in courage or valor; not giving way to fear
But the truth is, I was often dismayed by everything that had taken place, and I did battle discouragement. I battled fear and doubts. I hurt and was angry, and sometimes "undaunted" sounded more like a mockery than a mantra, and I was determined to be real about all of it in these posts, thus the name, Undaunted Reality. More than that, though, I was determined to live undaunted, not because I'm so great or strong, but because my God is, and no matter what this world looks like, He is the only reality that matters.
I pray I live the reality of Him beautifully undaunted.

Please Take Notice and Take Action!

IMPORTANT!!!!
I want to share what happened to WG and me tonight because EVERYONE needs to be aware of this kind of thing.

Sunday is "eat whatever you want day" at our house, so we opted to grab McDonalds and watch some more Harry Potter. Except instead of going to the losest McDs, I felt like we should go to one a bit further away, so we did. Ordered. Got to the window and.....

Young lady acted out of sorts, so I asked about her day. She said it was good and asked about mine. I answered and didn't move when she gave me my money. She said, "Actually, it's not good. I think that little girl in that Tahoe is being kidnapped." What? She explained.

Black man. Hispanic little girl pushed up against he door acting scared. She asked the little girl if she was okay, and the girl shook her head. The man made a joke. The young woman at the window wasn't buying it.

Now, the Tahoe is at the other window with one car in between us. I ask questions. Did you tell your manager? Did you call police? No. "Go tell your manger right now," I order, so she runs to find the manager. I tell WG to get the license plate.

I finally get to the first window and ask the guy if he notices anything about the Tahoe. No, but his buddy who was there did. The little girl said she was being kidnapped. The kid at the window told, but no one believed him or the girl at the other window. I bark, "Call 911 NOW." So they do.

We give the license plate we have. They give the number WG missed because the young lady at the window got it. They give all the information, and we give the direction it headed. By the time I got there and told them to call, who knows where that Tahoe was, but thank God we got the license plate.

Now, I want to point out that the attentiveness of those young peolpe may have saved that girl's life. I"m proud of them for noticing.

I'm disgusting with the manager, BUT, I also get it. What is the likelihood that will happen to us? Why take it serious? Who wants to look stuipd with the cops?

Believe me, I am disgusted with myself and how I handled it as well. Why didn't I pull in front of the Tahoe until things got sorted out? Why didn't I march up there and demand answers? I know. If he was armed....If he knew we suspected anything...I know. But...anyway. There was a little girl scared in that truck, and I wasn't more proactive. BUT, maybe my role was simply to force them to make the phone call.

All I really know is this, those young people noticeda problem.
They really were scared for that kid.
They didn't know what to do with their concern.
BUT, they also did know what to do.
They got the license plate.
The described the Tahoe to a T.
They gave details about the man.
They knew.
They just needed someone to tell them to trust themelves.

I'll tell you what else I know. We live in a society that is crazy. Horrible things happen, and ordinary people who think things like that will never happen to them need to stop thinking that way and realize it can and they need to be aware, trust the Spirit speaking to them and pointing out anomalies that make their skin crawl, and act on it.

Please, please, please be aware of the people around you.
Be willing to get involved.
Be willing to ask awkward questions.
Be willing to call 911 when you think something is wrong.

You may be wrong, but then, you may be the hero some scared little girl in a Tahoe at a McDonalds drive through is praying for.

Stay staunch.
